More and more mechatronic products are asked to achieve the product intelligence for digitized life. This requires a lot of data sensing. Why not using some of the bolts, which are inside the product instead of additional sensors? The realization up to now shows limits for high performance structures – but we know, how to overcome and how to get new functionality with reliability. This knowledge can be also used for validation in testing. Especially in Light Weight Design the preload changes over time are significant – to know what´s happening, gives reliability.
